Welcome to the Licking County Adult Court Services Department website, providing a link to the Adult Court Services Department, which provides supervision of convicted felons, and pre-trial supervision of offenders awaiting Court action in the Licking County Common Pleas Court.
The primary mission of the Licking County Adult Court Services Department is to ensure public safety by supervising offenders placed on community control for felony offenses, as well as supervising people awaiting Court actions for criminal indictments. By providing effective correctional interventions to criminal offenders, the Licking County community is safer, as offenders become law-abiding citizens.
Specialized services through the Licking County Adult Court Services Department include Basic Supervision, Sexual Offender Supervision, Mental Health Supervision, Diversion, Drug Court, HOPE Program, and Day Reporting. The Licking County Adult Court Services Department ensures public safety through effective correctional interventions and utilizing innovative proven supervision methods.
Additionally, the Adult Court Services Department actively seeks to apprehend wanted felony offenders that have fled supervision.
New Programs of the Adult Court Services Department
The Opiate Suboxone Maintenance Program in conjunction with Licking Memorial Hospital, Shepherd Hill, Licking Alcoholism Prevention Program, and the Licking County Municipal Court
Expansion of Electronic Monitoring/GPS for pre-trial release cases to assist in the alleviation of jail and prison space issues.
Intervention Court utilizing intensive supervision of drug and mental health clients, collaborating closely with the Judiciary, being actively involved in supervision, and treatment of the offenders, in conjunction with Licking Alcoholism Prevention Program and specialized supervision of offenders to divert offenders from prison, in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Corrections targets for reduction of prison incarcerations.
The Adult Court Services Department has recently developed a Day Reporting Program. The purpose of the Licking County Day Reporting Program is to provide a therapeutic alternative for offenders, as opposed to incarceration. Participants will be Court ordered into the Day Reporting Program and assessed to complete programming based on their needs. Programming will include, but not limited to, mental health, drug and alcohol counseling, GED classes, employment, education, and job placement assistance. Day Reporting will provide participants with the skills to identify their strengths and weaknesses and the tools to appropriately address them.
