In response to state legislation requiring each county to form a local council, The Licking County CFFC was established in 1995. Our Council is an association of public and non-profit organizations, schools, clergy, parents, and elected officials, committed to strengthening families and improving the local social and human service delivery system by working together and sharing resources. With an annual budget just under one million, the CFFC is funded primarily by state, federal and local grant awards, supplemented with local contributions from its membership.

Licking County offers children and families a continuum of formal and informal services and supports with the goal of maintaining children in their homes whenever possible. The county has a long history of collaborative efforts and offers service coordination through Community Support Team meetings. In 1996 the ORC mandated that each county develop a plan to coordinate services for children and families who voluntarily sought services. The Licking County Children and Families First council assumed responsibility for the development of the first service coordination plan. The plan has been modified several times with the last formal modification done in 2010.Click Here

Purpose of The Council

Building community capacity, coordinating systems and services, and engaging and empowering families.

In 2002, Licking County developed a five year plan to address the most critical problems facing children and adolescents in Licking County. The process identified two areas of highest need in the county to be Family Violence and Substance Abuse. With your support we hope to continue our efforts to make a positive difference for Licking County children, youth and their families.

Now in the second phase of the 2002 plan the county continues to address the issue of substance abuse among youth through the county-wide “Our Futures” Initiative. We also continue to address family violence through the Triple P Parenting Program.
