⚠️ JURY DUTY SCAM ALERT

The Licking County Common Pleas Clerk’s Office has received recent reports of scammers contacting residents and falsely claiming they missed jury duty.

These callers may pose as court staff, sheriff’s deputies, or other county officials and may demand immediate payment to avoid arrest or jail time.

Please remember:

  • The Court will NEVER ask for payment over the phone regarding jury service.
  • Court staff will never request Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or credit card information in an unsolicited call.
  • The Sheriff’s Office does not issue warrants for failing to appear for jury duty.

These scammers often try to intimidate or pressure people into making quick payments. They may even use names of real county employees.

If you receive a call like this:

  1. Hang up.
  2. Do not provide personal information or payment.
  3. Contact the court or sheriff’s office directly.
