Richard Wright Bio

Richard P. Wright is a Judge for the Licking County Common Pleas Court, Domestic Relations Division. An attorney since 1987, Judge Wright practiced law for 21 years with his father and as a sole practitioner with Wright Law Offices located in Columbus and Newark.

Judge Wright graduated from the Ohio State University obtaining his Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics in 1982, and obtained his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 1987.

Judge Wright is a member and the President Elect of the Ohio Domestic Relations Judges Association and serves on both the Ohio Judicial Conference Domestic Relations Law and Procedure Committee and the Ohio Judicial Conference Executive Committee. Judge Wright previously served on the Supreme Court Commission on Technology and the Courts and the Committee for Alternative Dispute Resolution. Currently, he is on the steering committee for the 2014 Ohio Supreme Court Domestic Relations Summit, and is a member of the American Judges Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Licking County Bar Association.

Judge Wright previously served as Township Trustee for Bowling Green Township from 2002-2006 and has been a volunteer firefighter for 22 years. Judge Wright is married and has a son and two stepsons.
