Position Description:
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Collects, receipts, and reconciles all payments (cash/check/credit) for taxes, fees and other revenue items.
  • Calculates penalties, interest, and percentages on estates and delinquent taxes.
  • Receipts revenues deposited by County offices, departments and assessment districts.
  • Makes necessary changes and visions in the computer; audits balances and verifies totals; runs cashier tapes and stub tapes; balances drawer and vault daily.
  • Assists general public in person, by telephone, and by email requesting information regarding departmental programs, services, policies, processes and procedures.
  • Conducts research in relation to tax information, special assessments, and property tax refunds.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports as required; prepares various types of correspondence.
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
  • Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
Brief Description:

Under general supervision, provides customer service on behalf of the Licking County Treasurer; assists public and performs various duties related to departmental operations.

Job Prerequisites:

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with a major course work in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration or a related field; and 6 – 18 months of experience and/or training in related field. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):  

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and apply common sense understanding. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Computer / technology skills.

Compensation:

Salary:           $14.00/hour+(dependent on experience)
