Duties include but are not limited to: Processes bi-weekly payroll, including leave accruals and management. Maintains employee roster for the purpose of tracking employee wages regarding longevity, steps, probationary increase, service increases, etc. Maintains employee seniority roster for purposes of service time, both total and continuous. Processes Personnel Action Forms for new hires, resignations/terminations, suspensions, step increase, name changes, leaves of absence, temporary assignments, layoffs, etc. Maintains Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in order to onboard employees, update employee information, employee status, track leave and accruals, etc. Creates reports in HRIS to produce HR data related to leave accruals and usage, education, emergency contacts, seniority, etc. Administers Family Medical Leave Act to ensure compliance by obtaining required documentation for employees on leave, monitoring leave, tracking return to work status and doctor’s releases. Maintains personnel files and employee medical files. Distributes and tracks employee performance appraisals to ensure timeliness/completion. Tracks staff training.
Develops and prepares job postings, coordinates recruitment, screens potential job candidates. Obtains references for potential candidates, performs background checks, verifies applicable/required educational degrees. Administers new hire orientations including the review and acknowledgment of policies and procedures. Conducts exit interviews offered to employees resigning from Agency service. Assists in the formation of Agency personnel policies. Maintains and updates employee handbook and policies in various formats. Maintains employee relations by advising employees on matters of policy and procedure. Ensures compliance with personnel functions regarding applicable State, local and Federal laws. Interprets and assists in implementation of applicable personnel laws and regulations (e.g., ORC/OAC, FLSA, FMLA, etc.). Assists with reprimands and disciplinary actions. Tracks disciplinary measures to ensure consistency. Assists with the updating of positions descriptions. Tracks employee turnover. Conducts internal and external public relations activities including, but not limited to: attends local and State human resources meetings, utilizes social media for recruitment efforts, creates newsletter, designs informational materials/brochures, etc.
Serves on Agency safety committee chair and other committees, as assigned. Assists in the updating/maintenance of accreditation standards related to Human Resources. Reports/Tracks accidents and incidents to provide ongoing reports to various committees. Creates high level Agency forms, presentations, charts, spreadsheets, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
