Job Details

Duties:

• Perform weekly visual inspection of bioswales, shade trees and sidewalk planters.
• Supervise and direct daily tasks of seasonal conservation crew.
• Safely operate Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) with watering system.
• Record work progress and report plant or infrastructure failures to supervisor.

The Conservation Crew Leader performs visual inspection of all demonstration plantings, and supervises and directs the daily tasks of the conservation crew. Possessing and maintaining a working knowledge of small crew supervision, plant maintenance and green infrastructure is critical to the role.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Landscaping experience that includes a combination of weeding, watering, trimming, planting, digging, raking, trash removal, dead plant removal and replacement, using hand tools and power tools.

Additional Qualification (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):

• Willingness to direct and perform landscaping tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended hours.
• Ability to carry and transport resources materials and equipment.
• Proof of valid Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable.
• Understand and adhere to the Licking County Soil & Water Conservation District policy manual.
