Obtaining a Certified Copy of a Marriage Record

The Licking County Probate Court holds and maintains marriage records only issued in Licking County. Please be advised that if the license was issued prior to the year of 1991, the court must have the date of marriage to retrieve that record. If you are unsure of the county of issuance or the date of marriage you may contact State of Ohio Vital Statistics via telephone at 614-466-2531 to obtain that information.

If you make the request in person:

• You must provide the names of both parties as they existed prior to the date of marriage, and the date of marriage;
• $2.00 per copy requested (cash, check, credit, and debit are acceptable forms of payment)
