Our Staff
David Edelblute is the Chief County Administrator for Licking County Government under the direction of the Board of Commissioners. Previously he was the Manager of the Children and Families Court Services Division at the Supreme Court of Ohio. He has over 38 years of experience working in government administration and has been dedicated to the service of the children and families of Ohio. In his previous role at the Supreme Court of Ohio he worked with the juvenile, probate and domestic relations courts of Ohio. Prior to that position, he worked as the Court Administrator of the Licking County Probate-Juvenile Court from 1997 until 2018. Before becoming Court Administrator, David spent 11 years working for a nationally leading non-profit youth development organization. His focuses include rural and suburban community development, government administration, juvenile justice programming, child welfare programing, program evaluation, youth risk assessment instrumentation, organizational strategic planning, grant writing as well as outdoor education. He received his undergraduate degree from Denison University and received a Masters of Science degree in Human Development and Family Science from the Ohio State University.
Christel has served with the Licking County Commissioner’s Office since December 2017. She was appointed Clerk to the Board after previously serving as Administrative Assistant and Deputy Clerk. She is deeply committed to public service, transparency, and operational integrity. In her current role, Christel provides vital administrative support and collaborates closely with staff, elected officials, and department heads to ensure the office operates efficiently and effectively. She also manages key functions such as preparing meeting minutes, legal notices, press releases, reports, and recommendations on matters for the Commissioners’ consideration. Other responsibilities of her role include processing road, ditch, and annexation petitions. She has played a significant role in modernizing office processes, including the implementation of resolution management software. Christel serves as Secretary to the Senior Levy Advisory Board and takes pride in delivering exceptional service to the public. Beyond her professional life, she finds joy in traveling and cherishes time spent with her family and proudly embraces her roles as a wife, mom, and Mimi.
Dave joined the Licking County Commissioner's office in June 2021. He was Executive Director of the Licking County Aging Program for 25 years and served a total of 32 years in non-profit management. He loves sports and is known in the community from his days as a play-by-play announcer for WCLT radio. Dave's responsibilities include developing and administering the County's General Fund budget as well as monitoring and managing cash flow between fund revenue and expenses.
Jessi joined the Licking County Commissioners Office in January 2026 as Administrative Assistant to the Board of Commissioners. In this role, she provides administrative support and helps coordinate the Board's daily operations. Her responsibilities include managing communications, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and documents, maintaining public records, and assisting constituents with inquiries. Jessi is dedicated to serving others with professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. Throughout her career, she has developed strong communication, coordination, front-office operations, problem-solving, and multitasking skills while helping individuals navigate challenging situations with care and efficiency. Most recently, she served as a substitute teacher for four years, building positive relationships with students and educators while fostering supportive and adaptable learning environments. Outside of work, Jessi enjoys spending time with family and friends while keeping up with her children's busy schedules. Much of her free time is spent supporting her children at practices, games, and tournaments. When she is not on the sidelines, Jessi enjoys traveling, tackling escape rooms with friends, and creating lasting memories with the people closest to her.
