Records Commission

Licking County Records Commission

The Licking County Records Commission was established by 149.38 of the Ohio Revised Code. The Board includes a member of the County Commissioners, the Auditor, Clerk of Courts, Prosecuting Attorney, and the County Recorder. The Records Center and Archives Manager was appointed to serve as the commission's secretary. Members strive to protect the records created by the county for public access and employee use. The commission is required to meet at least twice per calendar year to approve Records Retention Schedules (RC-2) and Applications for One-Time Disposition of Records (RC-1). The commission is also in charge of the annual inspection of retention schedules by department heads to ensure compliance with Ohio Public Records Law.
