Licking County Recycling To Move Recycling Bins
Effective March 1, 2019, Licking County Recycling will move the public recycling bins located at the First Baptist Church on Granville St. in Newark to Levin Park at 1266 Sharon Valley Rd. The new location is less than two miles from the previous location and will continue to offer recycling 24 hours per day for the public. Recyclers familiar with the area can find the new location at the north end of Country Club Dr., just past the OSU/COTC campus, however a map of the new location and other recycling information can be found on the Licking County Recycling website at: www.LCounty.com/RLC .
The relocated site is one of 26 public recycling sites throughout Licking County. Bins at all of the sites are serviced regularly with the materials taken to Columbus for sorting through an automated system using technology and computer driven machinery. The six bins at the new Levin Park site will be serviced on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
In 2018, the residents and small business owners of Licking County recycled more than 7.5 million pounds of recyclable materials through the Licking County Recycling public recycling bins. Materials accepted in the bins can be mixed together and include clean paper and cardboard of all types (flatten boxes please), glass bottles and jars, steel food cans, aluminum beverage cans, and plastic bottles and jugs (no miscellaneous plastics please). Items not accepted in the public bins include plastic bags, scrap metal, trash, furniture, mattresses, and foam products. Residents wishing to dispose of these latter items can contact Licking County Recycling at 740-670-5125 or visit the above website for recycling or disposal options.
Licking County Recycling is funded by the Coshocton, Fairfield, Licking, and Perry County (CFLP) Solid Waste District.
