The Licking County Recycling Department, in partnership with Licking County Records & Archives, will host a FREE paper shredding and electronics recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 20th, 2025. The event will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Licking County Highway Department garage complex at 775 E. Main Street in Newark, near the intersection of East Main Street and O’Bannon Avenue.
Licking County residents are invited to bring personal papers and other documents for shredding, with a limit of 5 boxes per household or individual. No documents will be accepted from businesses. All documents and papers must be securely boxed or bagged to ensure privacy and security (boxes should not be taped shut, and plastic bags will not be accepted for disposal). Documents should be free of paper clips, binders, photographs, or other physical media such as CDs, DVDs, etc. Shredding of paper materials will take place offsite after the event by Ohio Mobile Shredding. Licking County is not responsible for the data contained in any documents that are submitted.
Electronics collection for the event will be handled by Columbus Micro Systems. Electronic items will be accepted for free, including phones, computers, DVD players, gaming units, printers, cables, cameras, e-readers, monitors, servers, speakers, battery backups, and more. Please note: TV’s will NOT be accepted at this event; Licking County Recycling is planning to host a separate event for TV collection in 2026.
