A series of three Community Conversations will be held in late June to help shape LC Forward, the countywide integrated growth strategy process. This will be an important opportunity for the public to address the County's unprecendented growth.

Fluorescent tubes are now being accepted for recycling at the Licking County Recycling office, 295 Wilson Street in Newark. The office is open Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm. Tubes must be either 4- or 8-foot in length, and unbroken.

The Licking County Records Commission will hold a meeting on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the basement (Room A) of the County Administration Building, located at 20 South Second St., Newark. The Office of the Licking County Dog Warden is launching a new initiative to increase dog license compliance across the county and ensure pets can quickly return home if lost.

Newark, OH – 3/13/2026 – Licking County is launching a process to undertake the County’s first countywide comprehensive plan in more than 25 years. The Plan will provide a coordinated, data-driven framework to manage growth, leverage community assets such as farmland and natural areas, align infrastructure investment, and guide long-term fiscal and economic sustainability.
