Establishing New Service

Licking County Water & Wastewater Department

Potential buyers should contact our Billing Office at 740-928-0302 prior to the sale of the property. We will be glad to explain our Rules & Regulations and discuss any known problems with the account. It is the responsibility of both the old and new owner to contact us with the correct information using the Transfer of Account Form.

When a new buyer contacts us, we require the following information:

  • Name of seller
  • Service address
  • Forwarding address of seller
  • Buyer's name
  • Buyer's mailing address
  • Date of closing or vacating of property
  • A 48 hours notice is required
  • Driver’s License # or Social Security #
  • Date of Birth
  • Telephone #
  • Since we bill after service is rendered, a final bill will be sent to the seller.

When a property sells and has water service, we will require a final reading of the water meter. The final billing will be based upon the reading from the inside meter and we will need to know if the service is to be shut off. An adult will need to be home at the time of the reading. We require a forty-eight (48) hour notice for scheduling purposes.
